Huawei agrees to British agency demands - report

Huawei Technologies agreed to meet demands of the British cybersecurity agency in order to protect its 5G network in the European country, the Financial Times reported on Friday. The details of the agreement made between the agency and the company's executives were not disclosed. Huawei did not comment on the issue.

"The UK government and British telecoms operators work with Huawei to manage cyber security risks while ensuring the UK can continue to benefit from new technology," a spokesperson for the agency told CNBC, adding that "as was made clear in July… the NCSC has concerns around a range of technical issues and has set out improvements the company must make."

The news comes after Huawei's 5G network equipment got banned in New Zealand after Washington's warned its allies of the alleged risks posed by the Chinese telecommunication giant's equipment.
