Iran to continue its military presence in Syria

Iranian Supreme Leader's Aide Ali Akbar Velayati (pictured) stated on Friday that Iranian and Russian troops will continue their military presence in Syria in order to ensure the terrorists do not return to the war-torn country.

"Iran plans to continue its military presence in Syria. I believe, if we leave the country- Russia to leave it next and then the same terrorists will return back again," Velayati pointed out. He also said that, since the United States-led coalition is operating in Syria without the Syrian government's permission, Iranian troops' presence in the area is legitimate.

Tehran admitted that its military advisors are present in Syria, aiding the Assad regime against terrorists. Iran promised to stay in Syria as long as necessary, responding to Israeli demands that the country ends its military presence in Syria.
