Khashoggi's torture and murder recorded on his Apple Watch - report

The alleged torture and murder of a prominent dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi were recorded on the Apple Watch he was wearing on the day he disappeared after entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, the pro-government Turkish newspaper Sabah reported on Saturday citing "reliable sources in a special intelligence department." Khashoggi's watch with incriminating evidence was synched with his iPhone he gave to his fiancee before entering the building, the report added.

The journalist is reported to have turned the recording option on his watch on prior to entering the consulate, which the Saudis realized only after he was killed. The assassination squad tasked with his killing allegedly tried to delete the information, but only after parts of it were transferred to his telephone.

The report comes a day after a team of Saudi investigators arrived in Turkey in order to conduct a joint investigation into Khashoggi's disappearance. Earlier today, a Saudi official strongly dismissed the accusations against his country, describing them as "lies and baseless allegations."
