NATO: Russia's agressive actions threat to security

North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) stated on Wednesday that Russia's "aggressive actions" pose a threat to the European and North American security, according to an official summit declaration. The organization branded Moscow's move as forceful, aiming to achieve its own political goals while also challenging the bloc. However, NATO noted that it is open for partnership with Russia and that it is open for future dialogue.

"For over two decades, NATO has worked to build a partnership with Russia, including through the mechanism of the NATO-Russia Council (NRC)… We remain open to a periodic, focused, and meaningful dialogue with a Russia willing to engage on the basis of reciprocity in the NRC, with a view to avoiding misunderstanding, miscalculation, and unintended escalation, and to increase transparency and predictability," the statement said.

Earlier today, the Secretary-General of NATO Jens Stoltenberg stated that despite not recognizing Russia's annexation of Crimea, the alliance shouldn't isolate Moscow over the issue. He later added that NATO should not interfere in the construction of Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline after he was faced with Trump's harsh criticism over Europe's financial participation in the North Atlantic alliance.
