Navarro: China targeting Canadians in tit for tat move

White House Trade Adviser Peter Navarro claimed on Thursday that Chinese authorities arrested two Canadian nationals in a "tit for tat" move after Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou was arrested in Canada on December 1 over allegedly violating US' anti-Iran sanctions.

Navarro also told Fox Business that investors should focus on the tensions between US and China as a result of Meng's arrest, but on March when the trade talks between the two countries set to be concluded. Furthermore, he confirmed reports that China has agreed to buy more soybeans from the US.

Earlier today, China's Foreign Ministry confirmed two Canadian citizens are being held on suspicion they endangered Chinese national security.
