Navarro: Steel tariffs spurred investment

Trade tariffs did not lead to the predicted doom, Director of the White House Office of Trade and Manufacturing Policy Peter Navarro (pictured) stated on Friday, adding that steel tariffs spurred investment.

Navarro added that "if and when" a China trade deal happens, it will be on US President Donald Trump's terms, not Wall Street's. He went on to say that "globalist CEOs" weaken the president ahead of his G-20 meeting with China's president Xi Jinping.

Trump's assistant also commented that the president "doesn't need Goldman Sachs' help on trade."
