Trump announces reciprocal tax for other countries

United States President Donald Trump said on Monday that he plans to introduce "reciprocal tax" for countries that "take advantage" of the US.

Trump explained that some countries, including those the US regards as allies, charge American companies up to 75% tax for products imported from US and claimed the US does not impose any taxes on goods it imports from those countries. According to the president, US companies affected by high taxes abroad include Harley-Davidson, which he claimed was treated "very unfairly" in some countries. "You know the countries I am talking about," he added.

The US president noted that his administration will reveal more details about the plan later in the week and over the coming months. "We cannot continue to be taken advantage of by other countries," Trump concluded.
