Huawei denies violating anti-Iran sanctions

Huawei insisted on Wednesday it has not violated the United States sanctions against Iran after a media report said the US Department of Justice (DoJ) launched a criminal investigation into the Chinese company's alleged sanctions breach.

"Huawei complies with all applicable laws and regulations where we operate, including export control and sanction laws and regulations of the UN, the US and the EU," a spokesperson for Huawei stated.

Earlier, Wall Street Journal reported, citing sources close to the matter, that the DoJ is probing the Chinese tech giant on suspicion it violated the anti-Iran sanctions, but failed to specify any concrete details about the company's alleged embargo breach.
