Navarro: Lighthizer in charge of US-China talks during truce

White House Trade Adviser Peter Navarro stated on Monday that United States Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer (pictured) will be in charge of the renewed trade talks between Washington and Beijing over the truce period that is set to last for 90 days, NPR reported.

Over the weekend, the United States and China agreed to pause new actions on protective measures for 90 days. The developments result from a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping during the G20 summit in Argentina.

Last week, Director of the National Economic Council Larry Kudlow criticized Navarro over his comments about a future trade deal with China, adding that the adviser "did the president a great disservice."
