Gatwick flights suspended over new drone sighting

Flights to and from London's Gatwick airport were suspended for the third consecutive day as a result of a "suspected drone sighting."

"We are just hearing a report of another drone sighting that we are investigating," a spokesperson for the airport said. "As we look into it we have taken the precaution of suspending flights."

Gatwick Airport was first closed late on Wednesday following reports that two drones were flying close to the runway. After briefly operating, flights were suspended once again on Thursday morning due to a "further sighting of drones." United Kingdom Transport Secretary Chris Grayling stated that there was no evidence to show the incidents were terror-related.
