Mueller: Manafort lied about sharing polling info with Russia

Special Counsel Robert Mueller stated on Tuesday that former campaign manager of the United States President Donald Trump Paul Manafort lied about sharing polling information with Russian intelligence, media reported, citing the newly released court filing. According to the filing, Manafort also misled the investigators about the alleged discussion of a secret Ukrainian peace plan with the alleged Russian spy Konstantin Kilimnik.

The defense filing was submitted by the ex-campaign manager's lawyers in a bid to counter Mueller's accusations that Manafort breached his plea agreement "by making numerous false statements.

Additionally, the filing stated that Manafort was accused by special counsel of lying about a text message from a third party asking to use his name in an event where Trump was present.
