Second explosion at Kabul Airport near Baron Hotel

A second blast hit Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan on Thursday, according to the Turkish Defense Ministry. The explosion appears to be a suicide attack that targeted the area near Baron Hotel, which houses British troops and staff, media reported.

The United Kingdom's Ministry of Defense said it is "working urgently to establish what has happened in Kabul and its impact on the ongoing evacuation effort." United States President Joe Biden has also been briefed on the attack.
