Russian Embassy in London warned on Wednesday that military and political consequences would follow the potential delivery of fighter jets from the United Kingdom to Ukraine. If it opts for such a move, Britain would be responsible for all additional escalation on the European continent and in the whole world, the embassy told Russian state media.
Earlier in the day, a spokesperson for the British government confirmed that it is considering sending fighting jets to Ukraine. However, a potential plane delivery would represent "a long-term solution rather than a short-term capability, which is what Ukraine needs most now," the spokesman pointed out.
UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said at a subsequent press conference that "when it comes to military aid" to Kiev, "nothing is off the table."
