The Russian Foreign Ministry announced on Friday that it had sanctioned British individuals associated with the International Criminal Court as well as members of the government.
According to the statement released by the ministry, the sanctions also cover representatives of the "political class," law enforcement agencies, the professional legal community, and the press corps, totaling 54 people.
The list includes the British Minister for Culture, Media, and Sport, Lucy Frazer, over her activity in "sports isolation of Russia," and Karim Ahmad Khan, prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, "who was involved in issuing an arrest warrant for the Russian leadership." The list of journalists includes correspondents from the BBC, the Guardian Media Group, and the Daily Telegraph.
