The United States Department of Defense (DoD) is relocating extra resources to the Middle East region amid reports of a potential Iranian attack on Israel, CNN reported on Friday, citing a defense official.

The objective of this relocation, according to the source, is "to bolster regional deterrence efforts and increase force protection for US forces" in Iraq and Syria, where they are consistently targeted by Iran-supported proxy groups.

Earlier, Axios reported that Iran warned the United States that its military personnel in the region would be at risk if it did not refrain from involving itself in Tehran's conflict with Israel.
