Musk warns of Apple device ban due to OpenAI integration

Tesla Inc. CEO and billionaire Elon Musk said on Monday that he will ban Apple devices from his companies if Apple integrates OpenAI technology at the operating system level.

"If Apple integrates OpenAI at the OS level, then Apple devices will be banned at my companies. That is an unacceptable security violation," Musk said on X, adding that "visitors will have to check their Apple devices at the door, where they will be stored in a Faraday cage."

The comment was made after Appel's announcement during its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) that the company intends to start using ChatGPT in some of its applications and services. According to Apple, ChatGPT integration will be available on iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and Mac OS Sequoia later this year, and the company intends to add support for other AI models in the future.
