OPCW still not granted access to Douma by Russia, Syria - UK

Experts from the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) who arrived in Syria over the weekend have still not been granted access to Douma, the site of the alleged chemical attack, the United Kingdom delegation to the OPCW stated citing the organization's director general.

"OPCW arrived in Damascus on Saturday. Russia & Syria have not yet allowed access to Douma. Unfettered access essential. Russia & Syria must cooperate," the UK delegation tweeted.

Earlier, Russia stated it was ready to provide transportation and security to the OPCW team which came to investigate if chemical weapons were used in the Douma attack. Moscow also vowed not to interfere with the OPCW probe and accused the US of "trying to undermine" the investigation following US-led airstrikes against Syria.
