Raab: Government steps up plans for no deal Brexit

The British government is "stepping up" its plans for the possibility of leaving the European Union without a deal, Brexit Secretary Dominic Raab said on Thursday. Raad told lawmakers he and Prime Minister Theresa May "agreed to step up planning for a no deal scenario" as it is "the responsible thing for a government to do."

The government's long-awaited white paper laying out its Brexit proposals was released earlier today. The soft-Brexit approach highlights a "principled and practical" departure from the bloc and has five main objectives, including "developing a broad and deep economic relationship with the EU that maximizes future prosperity."
