Shots fired in school in Santa Fe, Texas

Law enforcement officers apprehended a suspect after an alarm placed a high school in Santa Fe, Texas, on lockdown, with an active shooter reported on site, local media said on Friday. A bomb squad and SWAT (Special Weapons And Tactics) team were sent to the site 48 kilometers or 30 miles south of Houston, as vehicles of emergency services and a helicopter were spotted near the facility.

ABC's affiliate in the biggest city in Texas quoted a student who said she witnessed a male gunman shot another female student in the leg and then started "shooting everywhere." Another report indicated the weapon resembled a shotgun.
