Trump: If Dems take House, 'we'll have to fight it out'

United States President Donald Trump said on Thursday that if Republicans lose the majority in the House of Representatives in November's elections, "it would be a shame," but that they would "have to fight it out." Trump added that there is a chance for the two major parties in the US to still "get along" during his phone interview with "Fox and Friends."

"If we lose the majority in the House, which is always a possibility, we will probably have to just fight it out and it’s a shame," Trump pointed out. "It would be a shame because we’d be wasting a lot of time. But we’ll just have to fight out it out because there are a lot of haters and they’re just absolute haters," he added. He stressed, however, that the Democrats and Republicans are still on the same page on some issues. "There’s something that can bring us together. We have a lot of things where there is commonality. And it’s possible that we’ll even get along," Trump noted.

A recent poll showed that Democratic candidates currently hold a narrow advantage over their Republican opponents in 69 districts currently held by the GOP. The survey also showed that the support for the president is below 50% at the moment.
