Trump to extend Iran sanctions suspension

United States President Donald Trump will not reinstate sanctions against Iran and will extend the nuclear deal for the "last time" unless an agreement is reached, according to senior White House officials. As anticipated, Iran will not face economic embargo for 120 more days, but the US Department of Treasury published an updated Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) list, adding a number of Iranian individuals and entities, prohibiting US nationals from dealing with them.

Last October, Trump decided not to certify the deal, officially named Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), stating the government in Tehran has "spread death, destruction, and chaos around the globe" and that the accord is not in the national interest of the US. On Wednesday, Iran's Atomic Energy Organization said the country will speed up its uranium enrichment if US violates the JCPOA by imposing sanctions against Tehran.
