Trump, Xi to meet in late November - report

United States President Donald Trump is planning to meet his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping in late November, the Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday, citing both American and Chinese officials. According to the article, the meeting between the two world leaders will take place on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Buenos Aires at the end of next month.

The meeting is anticipated by both sides while Trump and Xi are expected to discuss the matter of trade and the increasing tensions it has caused between Washington and Beijing.

White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow and US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin are the ones pushing for the meeting to happen, according to the report. Meanwhile, former US President Richard Nixon's grandson Christopher Nixon Cox is said to have been involved in the summit's organization on the American side while the Chinese have placed presidential economic envoy Liu He on their planning team.
