Typhoon Mangkhut kills at least 25

At least 25 people were killed, mostly in landslides, when a typhoon Mangkhut hit the Philippines before moving north towards China.

A child and two emergency workers were the first reported casualties of the storm officials call the most powerful typhoon to hit the Philippines in the last five years with sustained winds of 170 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 260 kilometers per hour.

The other victims were killed in landslides or collapsing buildings. Most of the victims come from the Cordillera region.
