US business inventories rise 0.6% in July

Inventories in the manufacturing and trade sectors in the United States were estimated at $1,950 billion in November, according to a report by the US Census Bureau released on Friday. The figure represents a 0.6% increase compared to the previous month and a 4.3% increase from the same month a year earlier.

The combined value of distributive trade sales and manufacturers’ shipments for July was evaluated at $1,454.1 billion, up 0.2% compared to the previous month an 8.1% jump year on year based on seasonally adjusted data.

The total business inventories/sales ratio at the end of July was 1.34, lower than in the same period the previous year, when it was at 1.39.
