US stocks turn positive on Powell remarks

Indexes in the United States turned to small gains during Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell's press conference following the central bank's decision to hike interest rates by 0.25 points. Powell noted it was "still early to declare victory on inflation" despite the fact it is moving towards the 2% objective. The Fed official also stated the US economy is "doing very well" and that the country's growth outlook is favorable.

The Nasdaq 100 rose 0.45% at 9:12 pm CET with 21st Century Fox leading the gains as its shares soared 6.81% at 9:13 pm CET.

The Dow Jones was up 0.01% at 9:12 pm CET and the S&P 500 added 0.03% at 9:13 pm CET.

The euro increased 0.34% against the dollar to go for 1.1787 at 9:13 pm CET.
