US to host Iran-centered summit in Poland in February

The United States will host an international summit in February that will focus on promoting stability and freedom in the Middle East and will pay special attention to Iran’s regional influence, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told Fox News in an exclusive interview on Friday while on the road in the Middle East.

Pompeo told that media outlet that the event will be held from February 13 to 14 in Poland and will gather dozens of countries from around the world. He said that "countries will all come together to focus on Middle East stability and peace and freedom and security here in this region, and that includes an important element of making sure that Iran is not a destabilizing influence."

The US Secretary of State is currently on a tour of the Middle East. He said on Thursday that the US would seek to end Iran's presence in Syria. Pompeo also previously reiterated that the US would continue its fight against ISIS despite its withdrawal from Syria.
