WeWork invests into Laird Superfood

WeWork invested an undisclosed amount into Laird Superfood, a natural food company, in a $32 million private funding round. The co-working start-up will reportedly start serving Laird's food products to its members in New York City, as well as selling them in its WeMrkt stores.

"I thank WeWork for their investment in Laird Superfood's expansion and the pursuit of our mission to become the leading superfood company in the natural foods space. At Laird Superfood, we think of our clean-ingredient products as fuel. With the right fuel, you can accomplish anything, and it's in this way that our offerings perfectly complement the ambitious and entrepreneurial spirit of the WeWork community," founder Laird Hamilton said in a statement.

Oregon-based Laird Superfood, which was founded in 2015 by Hamilton, a big-wave surfer and fitness entrepreneur, makes health food that is gluten-free and vegan. The company started selling its products online at first but has since expanded into more than 1,000 grocery and retail stores across the United States.
