6.3-magnitude earthquake strikes South Sandwich Islands

A 6.3 magnitude earthquake hit the region of the South Sandwich Islands in the southern part of the Atlantic Ocean on Sunday, the US Geological Survey reported.

According to the report, the tremor originated at the depth of 10.0 kilometers and was at 2,561 kilometers to the east of the Argentine town of Ushuaia.
