65,000 reportedly sign up for Trump's federal buyout offer

At least 65,000 United States federal workers have chosen to take part in President Donald Trump's deferred resignation program, CNN reported, citing an unnamed White House official.

The program allows employees to resign but continue receiving pay until the end of September. A federal judge recently delayed Trump's original deadline for the program, pushing the acceptance cutoff to Monday.

Earlier on Thursday, CNN reported that federal staff was notified of the deadline extension.
