Alice Weidel, co-leader of Germany's far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD), stated on Monday that the election-winning coalition leader Friedrich Merz "won't be able" to fulfill any of his campaign promises.

The remarks come after Sunday's election, which saw the CDU/CSU emerge victorious and the AfD secure second place with 20% of the vote.
