Ukrzaliznytsia, Ukraine's state-owned railway company, reported Monday a "large-scale targeted cyberattack" on its online systems. The attack, which occurred on Sunday, disrupted operations but failed to halt train services, which continue to run on schedule. Restoration efforts, supported by the Security Service of Ukraine's cyber department, have been ongoing throughout the last day and are still underway.
Despite the attack, Ukrzaliznytsia said its backup protocols ensured the stability of train movements, highlighting the company’s preparedness following previous cyber threats. While online ticket sales remain temporarily suspended, the railway is transitioning to offline operations to minimize passenger inconvenience.
