Alstom SA announced on Tuesday that it signed a contract worth €1.8 billion with Norwegian state-owned railway company Norske tog AS. The deal allows for orders of up to 200 Coradia Nordic regional trains, with deliveries expected to begin in 2025.
Alstrom said it has received the first firm order of 30 trains with a price tag of €380 million. "Once in service, this new fleet will begin operations as a suburban and fast rail service, connecting Ski and Stabekk in the greater Oslo region," the company added.
Alstrom's shares added 1.03% after the announcement.
