Amazon to close Kindle e-bookstore in China in 2023

Amazon.com Inc. said on Thursday that it will be closing its Kindle e-bookstore in China on June 30, 2023.

"After this time, you will not be able to purchase new eBooks. For eBooks you've already purchased, you can download them until June 30, 2024, and you can continue reading after that," the statement read.

Nevertheless, the company shared that it plans to continue with its customer and warranty services for the Kindle e-book readers. "Amazon will also offer returns for non-quality issues for users who purchased Kindle e-readers after January 1, 2022 and are eligible for returns," it was written in the statement.
