Amazon.com Inc. announced on Wednesday it will invest €10 billion in its cloud services, logistics, and research and development (R&D) operations in Germany.
The company said in a statement it will also open 4,000 new job posts at three of its new centers, Horn-Bad Meinberg, Erfurt, and Grossenkneten. It added that, with those, it will have more than 40,000 permanent employees in Germany.
"With our teams continually focused on innovation, we're helping German customers transform the way they work, live, connect and thrive," Amazon Germany Country Manager Rocco Braeuniger commented. "And with that comes a positive impact for the country – and especially the communities where we operate – with a broad range of investments and jobs ranging from research and development to logistics and customer service."
