Amazon unveils new Kindle with improved screen

Amazon Inc. announced on Tuesday it is launching the upgraded versions of its electronic readers, Kindle and Kindle Kids, with a new, upgraded high-resolution screen.

The new Kindle features a "glare-free, 6-inch, high-resolution display" with a battery that can last up to six weeks and 16 gigabits (GB) of storage and comes at a price of $99.99. The upgraded Kindle Kids, which includes "unlimited access to thousands of age-appropriate books," costs $119.99.

Earlier this month, Amazon announced it is expanding the free-trial period for Kindle Unlimited to two months.
