China's Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao held a meeting with Apple Inc.'s CEO Tim Cook on Friday, the ministry revealed on its website.
The two talked about the current economic and trade relations between Washington and Beijing. They also discussed the tech giant's business development in China. Wang said that the country is committed to further optimizing the business environment and will continue to "provide high-quality services to foreign-funded enterprises." He also expressed hope that Apple will "deepen its presence" in the Chinese market.
On Thursday, Cook shared that the firm aims to boost investments in the country. "Apple is keen to seize the opportunities presented by China's opening up and will continue to increase its investment in the country, thus contributing to the high-quality development of the industrial and supply chain," he remarked.
