Major stock markets in Asia-Pacific continued trading lower after the release of new data on the trade balance in Japan that showed a deficit of ¥930.5 billion compared with the last’s year figure. Also, traders received the latest decision from the Chinese central bank to maintain interest rates at 3.45%.
Japan's Nikkei 225 went down by 0.51%, while South Korea's Kospi decreased by 0.22% at 7:08 am CET, and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 lost 0.57% at 7:12 am CET.
In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite declined 0.32% at 7:10 am CET. At the same time, the Shenzhen Composite fell 0.28% at 7:18 CET. On the other hand, Hong Kong's Hang Seng lost by 0.73% at 7:08 am CET.
The dollar stood flat compared to the Japanese yen at 7:08 am CET, trading for ¥147.8330.
