Major Asia-Pacific stock markets traded mostly lower on Wednesday as investors weighed the latest batch of US economic data. Market participants also digest May inflation figures from Australia and industrial profits from China.
Japan's Nikkei 225 grew by 1.63%, while Australia's S&P/ASX 200 rose 1.06% at 7:05 am CET. South Korea's Kospi decreased by 0.66% a minute later.
In mainland China, the Shenzhen Composite fell 1.02% at 6:51 am CET, and the Shanghai Composite declined 0.67% at 7:07 am CET. On the other hand, Hong Kong's Hang Seng lost 0.23% a minute later.
Finally, on the currency front, the dollar stood flat compared to the Japanese yen at 7:09 am CET, trading for ¥144.0100.
