Major Asia-Pacific stock exchanges traded mixed on Monday with investors looking forward to inflation readings from Australia and Japan's Tokyo, which will be released later in the week. Meanwhile, in the Bank of Japan's (BoJ) monetary policy meeting minutes, it was shown that certain members believe the "achievement of the price stability target was not yet envisaged with sufficient certainty."
In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite was flat at 7:09 am CET, while the Shenzhen Composite declined 0.57% a minute later. At 7:11 am CET, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng added 0.08%, South Korea's Kospi Composite fell 0.18%, at the same time.
At the close, Australia's S&P/ASX 200 grew 0.53%. Meanwhile, concurrently, Japan's Nikkei 225 slid 1.16% or 474 points. The dollar traded 0.16% below the yen at 7:12 am CET, selling for 151.21750.
