The country's gross domestic product (GDP) growth ran at 4.7% in the second trimester, coming in lower-than-anticipated and down from 5.3% registered in the first quarter. Meanwhile, the People's Bank of China (PBoC) kept its one-year medium-term lending facility (MLF) loan rate steady at 2.5%.
In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite added 0.13% at 7:05 am CET, with the Shenzhen Composite decreasing 0.37% a minute later. At 7:06 am CET, South Korea's Kospi Composite was flat, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng slid 1.31%.
Australia's S&P/ASX 200 gained 0.63% at 7:07 am CET, with Japan's Nikkei 225 not trading today due to a holiday. The dollar traded 0.08% above the yen at 7:08 am CET, selling for 157.98400.
