Major stock markets in Asia-Pacific continued trading mixed on Monday ahead of the next Bank of Japan's monetary policy decision scheduled for October 31. In business, HSBC Holdings plc revealed that its revenue increased by 40% on an annual basis in the third quarter of fiscal 2023.
Japan's Nikkei 225 went down by 0.95%, while Australia's S&P/ASX 200 lost 0.79% at the close of their trading sessions. South Korea's Kospi advanced by 0.29% at 7:10 am CET.
In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite gained 0.14% at 7:10 am CET. Two minutes later, the Shenzhen Composite improved by 1.45%. On the other hand, Hong Kong's Hang Seng lost 0.41% at 7:11 am CET.
The dollar stood flat compared to the Japanese yen at 7:09 am CET, trading for ¥149.66000.
