52 people sought medical attention following an explosion at a factory in Sergiyev Posad in Russia, officials said on Wednesday. A preliminary investigation said the cause of the blast was a "violation of the technological process," emergency services told RIA Novosti.
Ukrainian media outlets reported the facility is an optical-mechanical plant with ties to the Russian military. However, Moscow Region Governor Andrey Vorobyov insisted that the factory "has had nothing to do with optics and mechanics for a long time" and that it focused on the production of pyrotechnics.
