At least 64 people have been killed and 186 have sustained injuries in the past 24 hours due to recent Israeli airstrikes on residential buildings in central Gaza, Al Jazeera reported on Sunday.
The media added that in southern Gaza, an Israeli helicopter opened fire upon residential neighborhoods, while artillery shelling resumed in the eastern areas of Bureij and Nuseirat refugee camps in central Gaza. In addition, Israeli forces targeted three mosques: the Al-Muhajireen Mosque and Al-Sahaba Mosque in the Al-Maghazi camp, as well as the Al-Furqan Mosque in the city of Deir al-Balah, all located in central Gaza.
Since October 7, a staggering number of casualties have been reported in Gaza, with at least 21,672 people killed and 56,165 injured in Israeli attacks. Additionally, over 300 Palestinians have lost their lives due to Israeli army and settler attacks across the occupied West Bank.
