The Atlantic magazine released on Wednesday the full contents of the chat between Trump administration officials on the Signal messaging app, which was accidentally shared with the Atlantic editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg. US President Donald Trump, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth (pictured) all said the chat contained no classified information.

The messages, sent by Hegseth, US Vice President JD Vance and others, discuss a detailed timeline of a strike on the Yemeni militant group Houthis, as well as the details of the aftermath of the attack. The messages include concerns shared by Vance on a possible spike in oil prices caused by an escalation in the Red Sea, and Hegseth arguing that "nobody knows who the Houthis are" and that the messaging about the strike should focus on Iran's backing of the Houthis and the failure of the Biden administration to eliminate the Red Sea threat.
