Foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov agreed to meet again in Washington to "express their appreciation to the Secretary Blinken and to the US side for organization discussions," United States State Department Spokesperson Ned Price revealed on Tuesday.
"We remain committed to promoting a peaceful future for the South Caucasus region," the agency's spokesperson said, adding that "continued direct dialogue" is key to resolving issues in order to reach "lasting peace."
The day before, the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken mediated the talks between the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan following the rising tensions in the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region that led to repeated clashes between the two nations.
