Baidu says its AI outperformed ChatGPT in some tests

Baidu Inc, said on Tuesday that its artificial intelligence-powered chatbot Ernie 3.5 outperformed OpenAI's ChatGPT in several key tests.

Citing a test conducted by Chinese state newspaper China Science Daily, Baidu stressed Ernie beat ChatGPT in "comprehensive ability scores" and outperformed GPT-4 in "several Chinese-language capabilities."

The company added that it also improved the training and inference efficiency in the latest Ernie version, facilitating upgrades to future versions.
