Barcelona advanced to the UEFA Champions League semifinals with a 5-3 aggregate win over Borussia Dortmund, despite losing the second leg 3-1 on Tuesday. The Spanish side's dominant 4-0 victory in the first leg proved enough to carry them through, even as the German team fought back fiercely.
Dortmund showed intensity from the start. Serhou Guirassy (pictured left) scored in the 11th and 49th minutes, putting pressure on the visitors. But an own goal by Ramy Bensebaini in the 54th stalled the momentum, and although Guirassy completed his hat trick in the 76th, it wasn't enough.
Barcelona managed the rest of the match efficiently and will now prepare for their first Champions League semifinal since 2019.
