Israel's Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir responded on Wednesday to recent remarks by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer that London was considering sanctions against him by stating that the British "do not scare him," according to the Times of Israel.
Ben-Gvir noted that Britain was trying to "thwart" the existence of Israel while adding the "British need to know the days of their mandate are over." He continued by stating that he "will continue to only act according to the important national interests of the State of Israel and the sake of the country’s residents, our soldiers, our policeman, and our prison guards."
Similarly, Israel's Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, whom Starmer said could also be targeted with sanctions over his previous statements, responded that "no threat" would prevent him from pursuing his country's security interests.
