Biden holds call with Macron, Scholz, Sunak amid crisis in Russia

United States President Joe Biden spoke with French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak about the ongoing situation in Russia, where the head of the country's Wagner Group launched an uprising.

"The leaders discussed the situation in Russia. They also affirmed their unwavering support for Ukraine," the White House stated in a readout of the call.

Biden is also said to have received briefings on the evolving situation on both Friday night and Saturday morning.

Russian defenses downed 13 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the regions of Rostov and Kursk, according to the Russian Defense Ministry."In the period from 22:00 to 22:30 Moscow time, air defense systems on duty destroyed 13 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles of the aircraft type: nine UAVs over the territory of the Rostov region and four UAVs over the territory of the Kursk region," the ministry stated.
