Biden to nominate Supernal COO for FAA head

United States President Joe Biden will nominate, the chief operating officer of Supernal, Michael Whitaker, as the new head of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

During the government of former US President Barack Obama, Whitaker served as the FAA's deputy administrator. According to a White House press release, he played a key role in "bringing together industry and government to successfully transition the nation's air traffic control system from radar to a satellite-enabled surveillance technology (ABS-B)."

He has served on the boards of InterGlobe Enterprises and Supernal, "a Hyundai Motor Group subsidiary that designs electric advanced air mobility (AAM) vehicles."
